The OS meeting at ICFT (Coaching Organizaation) on 2008/2/24 was a great one. I thought I DID open space for the sponsor and other members at ICFT. After I talked to two respectful and experienced OS facilitators about my concerns, I went to the sponsor and had her full support to lead a "real" OS.
During the time for members to bring up topics for discussion, the sponsor came to me and asked me if she could use microphone to say something. I thought she was going to announce topics so I let her to use microphone. It turned out that she planned to answer questions of "people who asked me about ICFT". I stopped her and said "whoever has questions, please change your questions into "topics" so you will have right people to help you." Graciously, the sponsor took it very nicely and announced a topic: "ASK SANDY" immediately. In the following sessions, she talked to several people and seemed they all enjoyed it very much.
(Because of the limited time) I did a "Stand-up" discussion of action planning in 15 minutes and they came up 6 action arenas from 9 topics. The closing circle of OS was very reflective and many people appreciated the new learning about ICFT and themselves. The whole event ended just on time.
I was so surprised at one member who formed an action group (out of six) at the action planning! He had kept distance from others and behaved as an "observer" during the discussions, then became a "bumble bee" thru out the time. I was very happy when he raised a topic for an action saw that people responded to him in such a way that he could do what he has passion for.
